Second Quarter Impact:

For the ​​​​second quarter of 201​7, FT Cares Foundation impacted ​18 organizations totaling $​​​​​31,809.19.

Impact December 2016: Christmas Traditions & Sharing

The Foundation and First Trust employees donated gift cards, toys, clothing and other Christmas gifts for:

  • The families of Leland House which provides up to two years of housing, support, and training for mothers and their families seeking to recover from domestic abuse and homelessness.
  • Soldiers proudly serving our country in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
  • The women and children at Family Shelter Service which works to transform lives by offering help and hope to those affected by domestic violence.

The Foundation was also proud to donate $1,250 in gift cards to needy families of Milton Township.

The Austin Texas Police Department was the recipient of the Foundation’s $5000 gold sponsorship for its Operation Blue Santa program which provides toys and food for families in need during the holiday season.

* Extra DifferenceSamaritan’s Purse received $1,500 from the Foundation in support of its personnel and disaster relief units on the ground in both Texas and Mississippi following several days of deadly storms.

Extra Difference: The Foundation donated $859.38 to Donorschoose.org to provide year-end funding in support of teachers and 836 students in ten different states.

* Extra Difference: In partnership with the event sponsored by the wholesalers, the Foundation gave $5000 to Feed My Starving Children which empowers volunteers to pack meals for the malnourished in nearly 70 countries.

Year-End Giving: As part of the Foundation’s annual end-of-year giving, the following donations were made:          

  • $3,000 was granted to Good Shepherd’s Fold for continued support of their scholarship fund in Uganda which provides a home and education for more than 90 children (newborns through eighteen years of age).
  • Opportunity International received $5000 in support of their mission to provide access to financial solutions empowering people living in 28 countries to transform their lives, their children’s futures and their communities.
  • The Foundation became a “Golden Hammer Sponsor” of DuPage Habitat for Humanity with a $5,000 donation.  This sponsorship provides 2 build days for up to 10 volunteers in 2016. DuPage Habitat is the locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International®, a nonprofit that works in partnership with families and the community to build affordable housing at no profit.
