Impact January 2017: Basic Human Needs

January 2018 donations will be posted when available; below are the January 2017 Impact donations so you can see the organizations the Foundation has previously impacted.

$3000 was donated to Northern Illinois Food Bank, a non-profit organization with a goal of solving hunger in a 13-county service area. The donation translates into $24,000 worth of groceries for the 1 in 6 people who struggle with hunger in Illinois.

$3090 was donated to Austin’s Central Texas Food Bank, the largest hunger relief organization in Central Texas. Our donation will provide one month’s worth of meals to 33 families.

In conjunction with a generous donation from First Trust Portfolios, the Foundation was proud to support charity: water. A $10,000 grant will completely fund a hand-dug well in Ethiopia which will bring clean water to 150 people in the Northern region of Tigray.

Extra Difference:

The Foundation responded to the severe storms and tornadoes that were responsible for at least 20 deaths and extreme destruction of parts of the Deep South and Gulf Coast by sending $1500 to Team Rubicon in support of their disaster relief efforts.

To help bring a little bit of home to those serving overseas, the Foundation donated $500 to the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Indiana. The donation will be used to purchase cookies that are sent to organizations that bring comfort to the women and men serving in the armed forces.
